Annual Bituminous Construction Workshops for 2008

This year the Bituminous Construction Workshops are being conducted and scheduled in conjunction with LTAP. Unlike previous years where the workshops were given in each Construction District, we are scheduling only four workshops which will be located around the state. This training will most benefit Project Construction Inspection Personnel, but all GDOT, Consultant, Local Government, and Contractor personnel are invited to attend. The Bituminous Construction Branch will invite the Hot Mix Contractors while the decision to which GDOT personnel should attend is left to your discretion and invitation. This training will be considered as training credit hours (6) for GA Dept of Transportation’s Quality Control Technician Certification Program.

  • Tuesday March 4, 2008 — C.E. Weir Center
  • Tuesday March 11, 2008 — GDOT Macon Area Construction Office
  • Tuesday March 25, 2008 — Roswell/Alpharetta Public Safety Training Office
  • Wednesday March 26, 2008 — GDOT Office of Materials and Research, Forest Park GA

The FAA's Airfield Asphalt Pavement Technology Program at Auburn University is focusing on improving quality, reducing costs, improving safety, and providing training on hot-mix asphalt materials and construction.

The mission of the Airfield Asphalt Pavement Technology Program (AAPTP) is to deliver applied research on asphalt airfield pavements that provides high quality, cost-effective asphalt pavements. The research projects will be focused on improving quality of hot mix asphalt (HMA), reducing costs, improving safety and providing training on HMA materials.
