Georgia Asphalt Pavement Association
(GAPA) represents
the interests of Georgia Hot Mix Asphalt producers, paving contractors
and suppliers. GAPA supports an active research program on environmental
issues and quality improvement in paving techniques used in the
construction of roads, streets, highways, parking lots, airports, and
environmental and recreational facilities using HMA.
The Association provides technical, educational, and
marketing materials and information to its members, and supplies
technical information to users and specifiers of paving materials.

Erosion & Sediment Control Workshops
4/21/2010 - Free half-day training sessions
available for all GHCA & GAPA members and employees on erosion and
sediment control. Marc Mastronardi with GDOT will be presenting ways
to identify and avoid the most frequent shortfalls in this area, and
cover the worksite erosion control (WEC) process. Also, he will discuss
the project manager's responsibilities within the special provisions and
will allow time for questions. Registration is required for everyone
attending this workshop, and spaces are filling up fast so reserve your
space now (request registration form from
tstory@gahca.com)! Conveniently
held twice a day at each location (8:00am and 1:00pm).

GAPA Announces New Technical Director
2/21/2010 - Duluth, GA – The Georgia Asphalt
Pavement Association is proud to announce that Kendra Davis has been
named the associations new Technical Director. Mrs. Davis was most
recently a Research Engineer at the National Center for Asphalt
Technology (NCAT) where she completed research on local calibration for
the Mechanistic-Empirical Pavement Design Guide (MEPDG) for the state of
Alabama, and pavement distress research for the 2006 NCAT Test Track
cycle.
Mrs. Davis earned both her Undergraduate and Masters Degrees in Civil
Engineering at Auburn University. Mrs. Davis is married and currently
resides in Smyrna, GA.
